Another economy is possible [en] | fr
11 December 2003

Together the different families of social and solidary economy are able to propose an economy that respects the environment and is an alternative to the present model of development ( 2 billion people are suffering from acute hunger, 80% of world revenue is absorbed by 17% of the world’s population...) They affirm that the economy should be at the service of men and women and not of capital and big finance, that democracy (one man/ one woman = one vote) should reign the whole of the economic sphere

The production cooperatives with their principles of democracy and egalitarian distribution of values, fair trade and the consumption of citizens as its corollary , the mutual funds with their fundamental principle that health is not a private good, cooperative banks and mutual financial funds, the initiatives of a solidary economy, the self-management of parts of townships, women initiatives, local traffic, systems of local exchange, organizations of international solidarity, the links that there are between social and solidary economy, trade unions and social movements.
