The next european assembly will be held on 4th- 6th March 2011 in Kossuth Klub, Budapest (near Metro station Kalvin ter, line 3- blue line).

13:00 to 19:30 Network meetings

13.00 to 17.00 Network meeting on Austerity

Understanding plans of EU governments on economic governance and how this relates to struggles against austerity in Europe

17:30-19:30 Prague Spring II Network - against RWE, poverty and for sustanability (ecology, economic dependency)

17:30 till 19:30 Environment protection, ecological and climate problems (e.g. Red sludge catastrophe in Hungary)

In case of need further network meetings can be held parallelly.

(Registration fees: Western bigger organisations: at least EUR 100, smaller organisations EUR 50, Western individuals EUR 20, CEE free of charge, but donations are accepted.)

1st morning session 9:40 –11:00 The crises in the CEE countries: the ways in and the ways out (facilitators: Gaspar Miklos TAMAS, Monika Karbowska? or Ewa Ziolkowska?)

9:40 till 9:55 Opening speech by Tamás Krausz, historian – (The crises in CEE countries – The situation in CEE)

9:55 till 11:00 What do the CSOs of CEE want? What is their thematic proposals for the future of ESF? Introduction of the organisations of the Hungarian SF.

11:00 to 11:20 Coffee Break

2nd morning session 11:20 to 12:50 Europe in the global crises: Repressions and mobilizations (facilitators: Sophie Zafari? Mirek Prokes?)

11:20 to 11:35 Input by Elisabeth Gauthier (?) - (The future of the ESF and what to do?)

11:35 to 12:50 Genaral debate (ESF space in Europe and the world)

12:50 to 13:50 Lunch break

1st afternoon session – 13:50 to 15:20 Breaking the iron umbrella: Conference on austerity and debt (Facilitators: Christine Vanden Daelen? Leo Gabriel, Alexandra Strickner?)

13:50 to 15:20 EU governments plans to deal with the debt crisis and civil society alternatives

Speakers : Joachim Becker and Kenneth Haar, Input – 45 minutes Joint debate – 45 minutes

15:20 to 15:40 Coffee Break

2nd afternoon session 15:40 to 18:30 Ways out of the crisis: Challenges and strategic approaches towards system change in Europe (facilitators: Hugo Braun? Alexandra Strickner?)

15:40 to 17:00 Inputs by different persons/groups

Uli Brand (scientific council of Attac Germany) or Dominique Plihon (scientific council of Attac France) – on social movements/civil society alternatives to the EU governments proposals to tackle the debt crisis

One person from climate justice movement

One person from food sovereignty movement

Or inputs of groups representing different perspectives: Trade unions proposal, social movements, etc.

17:00 to 18:30 Break out session to further develop proposed strategies/actions

One on conference on debt and austerity etc.

9:00 to 10:00 Reporting back from the WGs and the network meetings, proposals for actions in Europe in 2011

10:00 to 13:00 Taking decisions on the future common actions and the proposals collected through the small groups meetings, the network meetings, the plenaries

Solidarity Fund: at the moment it is empty, but we have got promises from Transform to contribute EUR 1,000 and Austrian Social Forum EUR 500

Reimbursement: depending on the Solidarity Fund, but at least 80 percent of their visa and travelcosts (but maximum 100 Euro for CEE and 250 Euro EE)
