Lisszaboni nyilatkozat a demokratikus Európáért
Az Európai Szociális Fórum (ESZF) Európa legátfogóbb demokratikus, szociális, feminista és fenntartható alternatíváinak találkozó pontjává n_tte magát ki. Az európai intézmények demokratikus deficitjér_l folytatott vita, továbbá az európai szociális mozgalmak és a civil társadalom követelései és kampányai egyre fontosabbá váltak az ESZF folyamatában.
Mi, az ESZF Közgy_lése lisszaboni ülésszakának résztvev_i úgy látjuk, hogy az EU tagállamok “Berlini Nyilatkozata” arra irányul, hogy új alkotmányos szerz_dést kényszerítsenek ki nyilvános vita és az emberek demokratikus döntésben való részvétele nélkül.
Ezzel a módszerrel fennmarad a neoliberális, militarista, antidemokratikus EU, hiszen a népeket megfosztják attól a joguktól, hogy maguk döntsenek jöv_jükr_l és az Unió jöv_jér_l. Pedig pontosan erre az EU-ra mondtak nemet széleskör_ vita után a franciák és a hollandok.
Mi, a Közgy_lés résztvev_i követeljük, hogy Európa polgárai maguk döntsenek jöv_jükr_l valóban demokratikus vitában, és vitájuk eredményét népszavazásokkal támasszák alá. A “Berlini Nyilatkozattal” szemben összeurópai mozgósításra szólítunk fel egy demokratikus Európáért. Egy olyan Európáért, amelyikben a fenntartható élethez f_z_d_ szociális jogok békében és a világ más népeivel való szolidaritásban érvényesülhetnek, utat törve maguknak a globális ökológiai válsággal szemben.
